Brachioplasty

 

An arm lift, also known as brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure to remove loose skin and excess fat deposits in the upper arm. With age, upper arm skin can become loose and flabby. Dr Sohn will discuss brachioplasty with patients who want to tighten this skin and look as good as they feel. In some cases, Dr. Sohn may suggest that liposuction be used alone or in conjunction with an arm lift to remove excess fat in the upper arms.

One significant consideration regarding brachioplasty, is the scar that is left behind. Although Dr. Sohn tries to minimize the appearance of scars on the upper arms by hiding them on the inner aspect of the arm, a significant scar can result. If you truly desire tighter, firmer arms via removal of skin and fat from the upper arms, then you must be prepared to accept this potential drawback.
